Plywood uses shreds of wood and glues them together, making them more dense and stronger than a regular plank of wood. Strand woven bamboo flooring achieves the same effect in a sense. Using a safe glue, along with special compression techniques to achieve a finished product that is twice as dense and twice as strong as a typical plank of bamboo flooring. The only issue with this is that it kind of takes away the environmental friendliness, just due to the glue that's used.
But, there's no denying whether you choose strand woven bamboo flooring, or regular plank, in the end it is many times more environmentally friendly than your typical hardwood floor. Just remember to take into account the kind of cleaning products you use, the finish that you have on your bamboo floor, most importantly the sealant you use. All of these factors for sure the highest quality and longest lasting floor.
